Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: While it feels like the hockey world is in summer mode (because they are) the Jets are down to two RFAs (Perfetti & Lundmark) to sign.

Note II: Some AHL news involving a former Jets assistant coach/Moose head coach as Pascal Vincent is returning to his home province to be the head coach of the farm club of the Montreal Canadians in Laval.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: New Jets assistant coach ready to soar. (Paywall). Wieber caught up with one of the two new assistant coaches on the Jets squad to get some insight into him.

Sportsnet: Potential trade destinations for Jets’ Rutger McGroarty. I’m pretty sure I’ve read an article trading him to every single team in the NHL at this point. I did see one the other day suggesting a deal with the Hurricanes that would see the Jets get back Winnipegger Seth Jarvis (which I think would be done in less than a heartbeat).

EP Rinkside: What’s Rutger McGroarty’s real value, and is he ready for the NHL? (Paywall). David looks to provide insight into the above questions which is relevant for Jets fans and fans of other teams looking to acquire the 2022 14th overall selection.

WST: Why the Winnipeg Jets should extend Cole Perfetti long termAndrew “Hustler” Paterson is joined by Murat Ates for a conversation about current Winnipeg Jets restricted free agent Cole Perfetti’s next contract and why it would be wise for the Jets to sign him long term.
