Note: The Jets confirmed they had acquired RFA Dylan Coghlan from the Hurricanes for future considerations on Saturday. They also announced that they had signed David Gustafsson and Logan Stanley to two-year contract extensions.

Note II: Jets Development Camp concludes today at hockey for all centre. Check out the full roster and schedule here.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Max Namestnikov trying to follow in family’s footsteps. Gotta be fun for the young kid from Michigan to get a chance to play for the same organization as his older brother.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets prospect Brown looking forward following freak injury. (Paywall). His Denver team was able to win the NCAA championship but sadly the Jets prospect was watching from the sidelines due to a season ending injury. Mike caught up with him at Development Camp.

NHL.com: Zhilkin looking to build on first pro season. He may be wearing yellow at the camp but he sure doesn’t look like a player that needs to be based on how he’s moving out there. But at the same time it makes sense not to risk any setbacks at Development Camp. Expecting a big season out of the 2022 3rd rounder.

Jets video/audio:

Illegal Curve Hockey Show: Saturday Podcast. On yesterday’s show we did a Jets Free Agency Review, gave our impressions of 2024 Jets Development Camp, looked at where do the Jets go now with Rutger McGroarty, benefits of a potential long term contract vs bridge deal for RFA Cole Perfetti and discussed the breaking news of the Jets signing David Gustafsson and Logan Stanley to two-year contract extensions. We were joined by Paul Edmonds (Voice of the Winnipeg Jets on 680 CJOB Radio, Scott Billeck (Winnipeg Sun) and Murat Ates (The Athletic Winnipeg).

Jets Development Camp:

Illegal Curve Hockey: Chat with Kieron Walton. Big 6’6 Kieron Walton was selected by the Jets in the 6th round of the 2024 draft in Vegas. We spoke with him today following day 3 on the ice of Development Camp about being picked by Winnipeg, his close friend and fellow Winnipeg selection Kevin He (4th round) being part of the organization and much more.

Illegal Curve Hockey: Chat with Markus Loponen. With the 155th overall selection the Jets went to Finland to grab Markus Loponen in the 5th round of the 2024 Draft in Vegas. Loponen is a 6’1 185 pound centre who has been in Winnipeg the last few days getting acclimatized to the city and the organization.
