Jets news:
Global News: Brad Lambert and Colby Barlow take leading roles at Winnipeg Jets development camp. Interesting to hear Jimmy Roy speak about opportunities to step up and become voices in the room.
Winnipeg Sun: Moose stint showed Jets prospect Barlow reality of next level. Everyone I’ve spoken to speaks to the positive impact it has on prospects when they join the AHL club of Manitoba at the end of their junior season in order to get a taste of the pros. 2023 1st rounder Colby Barlow would be one of those guys.
Winnipeg Free Press: Hockey the family business for development camp invite Namestnikov. (Paywall). He is certainly noticeable out there on the ice as he is certainly not the biggest but he does make an impact.
Winnipeg Free Press: Lucius a well of untapped potential. (Paywall). The skill is very evident. His biggest challenge is remaining healthy and it seems like the surgery he had will have cleaned up a problem that was continuing to bother him.
NHL.com: Barlow, Milic eye next step in development. Both prospects spoke about the process which can be difficult for a young guy who wants to be in the NHL to appreciate but they both sounded like they had a good understanding of their road map to the top league in the world.
Jets Development Camp:
Illegal Curve Hockey: Chat with Moose head coach Mark Morrison. The bench boss of Manitoba, Mark Morrison is helping to run the show at Jets Development Camp and he spoke about what he has seen to date and his thoughts on prospects, his hockey club and more.
Illegal Curve Hockey: Chat with Thomas Milic. Jets took Thomas Milic in the 5th rounder of the 2023 draft as an overager and that pick is certainly looking like a steal as the former WHL goalie of the year continued his winning ways as he transitioned to the pros during the 2023-24 campaign. After getting his feet wet down in Virginia Beach with the Norfolk Admirals in the ECHL he got the recall up to the Moose and he won the starting role and was a big part of the push from last place in the AHL to a playoff spot. He earned himself an ELC with the Jets back on May 3rd and now he returns to Winnipeg for his second Development Camp.
Illegal Curve Hockey: Chat with Colby Barlow. With one year in the Jets organization under his belt as well as some time with the Moose at the end of the 2023-24 season, first rounder Colby Barlow is much more comfortable as he settles into his second Development Camp in Winnipeg.
