Note: The Jets faced off against the Golden Knights last night in their second game of five at home last night. They started off slowly, had a heck of a middle frame and then a controversial call in the 3rd derailed the game and saw the home team suffer their fifth straight loss (0-4-1) as Vegas took it by a final score of 4-1. Today they are scheduled to practice at 12 noon CDT. We could be getting a Gabriel Vilardi update (from the latest update yesterday). Be sure to check back for the Practice Report.

Note II:  The Moose conclude their six-game homestand this afternoon against the Marlies. Puck drop is at 2 PM CDT.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Better performance, same result as Jets fall to Golden Knights. The TSN turning point was two-fold. 1) The power play stunk going 0/5. 2) Not getting a five minute major and losing Mark Scheifele was a game changer.

Winnipeg Sun: ‘No shortcuts’: Identity check more important for Jets than standings. Winning games is important but doing so the “wrong way” will only take you so far before bad habits catch up to you.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ power-play woes key factor in defeat to Golden Knights. (Paywall). Even if you’re upset that the major penalty was downgraded to a minor the fact of the matter is the Jets didn’t capitalize on one of their five opportunities and that was the difference in this hockey game.

Winnipeg Free Press: Fans flock to downtown barn as NHL season reaches crunch time. (Paywall). One silver lining for the organization, at least, is they are starting to get more butts back in the seats.

Las Vegas Review Journal: 3 takeaways: Knights break through late for important road win. A view from a writer that covers the Jets opponent.

NHL.com: Barbashev scores twice in 3rd, Golden Knights hand Jets 5th straight loss. Darrin gives you good insight from both the Jets and Golden Knights rooms.

Global News: Winnipeg Jets’ losing streak hits five games with 4-1 loss to Vegas. Another game recap.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Three burning Winnipeg Jets questions that will define the stretch run. (Paywall). There are a number of areas of concern and Murat gives you his insight on these three things. 1) Is this 2018, 2019 or a new story altogether? 2) Does Bowness have his deployment right? 3) Who will lead the way, effort-wise?

Jets video:

TSN: The Jets weren’t able to convert on five PP opportunities in loss to Golden Knights. TSN’s Dan Robertson and Kevin Sawyer discuss the Jets fifth straight loss at the hands of the Golden Knights Thursday, the pivotal play that changed the course of the game in the third period, and the standout play from Logan Stanley for Winnipeg.
