Two days ago we saw Gabriel Vilardi on the ice with his teammates for the first time since February 29th in Dallas when he was dealing with some discomfort and didn’t finish the game. The team later learned, in addition to the ailment, he was also dealing with an enlarged spleen and there was no timetable on his return. We did find out on Tuesday that his spleen was back to normal. The expectation was the team would continue to push him to get back to game shape since he’s been limited to 38 games this season and has missed almost one month since his last game.
The team was off on Wednesday and Vilardi was dressed in a red uniform, along with Cole Perfetti and Rasmus Kupari, as a non-participant in the game this evening against the Golden Knights

Head coach Rick Bowness was asked for an update/timeline.
“We’ll know better after tomorrow. He hasn’t had a chance to have a full practice. We’re going to skate as a team tomorrow, practice and we’ll know much better than that. But he tells me he feels good. I know the coaches are pushing him hard. He has no discomfort. So everyday he’s getting a lot closer but we’ll have a better feel for that tomorrow after practice.”
