Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets were looking to build on a very good 3-0 win over the Capitals that began this three-game homestand for them on Monday but Wednesday night they weren’t able to replicate that success against a red-hot Predators team that hasn’t lost in regulation since mid February. Nashville, including their 4-2 win over Winnipeg last night, are now 11-0-2 in their last 13 games as they continue to rocket up the Central division. The Jets are scheduled to practice today at 12 noon so stay tuned for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose were in Milwaukee yesterday morning for a school day game as they looked put some distance between themselves and the Wolves when it comes to the fifth and final playoff spot which they held by a single point going into the contest against the Admirals. They didn’t get burned by a slow start as Jets goalie prospect Thomas Milic made eight saves early in the 1st and then his team seemingly woke up around the six minute mark and they didn’t look back. Six straight goals for Manitoba (Lundmark |  Reichel |  Malott |  Reichel |  Nikkanen |  Ford) and with 29 saves by Thomas Milic they defeated their division rival 6-0. That was the first AHL shutout for Milic. They will practice today in Chicago ahead of their massive two-game set with the Wolves which starts on Friday night.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets mauled by surging Nashville Predators. This is a Nashville team that has grown together. Remember this team almost caught the Jets last season for a playoff spot and that was driven by both their big dogs and by players that were home grown by the organization and who have now assumed big roles with the big club this season.
