Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Keeping you up-to-date with all the latest pro hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets practiced in Texas but four guys were missing and considered game-time decisions so we won’t really know anything with certainty until warm-up gets underway around 11 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 11:30 AM CST.

Note II: This afternoon, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Carolina, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game.

Note III: The Moose will host the Stars of Texas (AHL version) this weekend for a pair of games to conclude six straight at home starting this afternoon with a 2 PM puck drop.

Note IV: Be sure to join us this morning for the Illegal Curve Hockey Show for two hours of Jets talk starting at 9 AM. We will be joined by Scott Billeck of the Winnipeg Sun and Rachel Doerrie co-host of the Staff & Graph Podcast.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Trade deadline looming for Jets. (Paywall). With less than one week to go Ken and Mike delve into the topic plenty of folks have been discussing around these parts for quite some time.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets know they have to play to higher standard after Dallas debacle. (Paywall). This team needs to be ready to go at puck drop and get back to the 5 on 5 standard that they set for themselves earlier in the season.

Winnipeg Sun: Stars ‘set the bar pretty high’ and the Jets couldn’t reach it. Global News: Can Jets learn from loss to Dallas? Good news for them is they get a chance to try to rebound against a very good Carolina team this afternoon.

Jets prospect news:

Elite Prospects: A look at the Winnipeg Jets prospect trade chips ahead of 2024 deadline. (Paywall). It would be interesting to know how many of the Jets top prospects are considered “off limits”.
