Note: The Jets swoon continued last night in Philly as they dropped their fifth straight game which would have been the fourth shutout in the last eight games before Kyle Connor broke that up late in the final frame. The scoring drought continues and yesterday they played a really poor opening period which set them too far back regardless of what they did in the final two frames. They return home for a pair of games starting tomorrow night against the Penguins as they look to turn things around. With just six defencemen due to Brenden Dillon‘s suspension there is some thought they will recall Ville Heinola from the Moose but in order to do that they will have to put someone on waivers. They were scheduled to practice this afternoon at Canada Life but cancelled.
Note II: The Moose with Axel Jonsson-Fjallby who cleared waivers on Wednesday, will take on the Griffins in Grand Rapids as they continue to try to make up ground in the Central division playoff race. Puck drop is at 6 PM CST.

Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: It wouldn’t hurt for Jets to go back to what works. I said as much last night and wondered aloud when we might see 27/55/13 reunited. On the Heinola front a move the Moose made today leads me to think it won’t be today and then even if he is recalled tomorrow the likelihood is he wouldn’t play before Wednesday’s game against the Sharks so he could practice.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ scoring woes continue as they drop fifth straight. When this team was going during that stretch from mid December to end of January the entire team was contributing. Now not so much as too many guys to list (but I did list them in yesterday’s morning papers) are mired in scoring slumps.
Winnipeg Sun: NHL player safety misses another one with Jets’ Dillon. All one has to do is look at the Jason Zucker three game suspension and compare/contrast that with the Brenden Dillon three game suspension (as I did here) and you cannot tell me that those are created equal.
Winnipeg Free Press: Flyers flatten slumping Jets 4-1. (Paywall). Mike was inside Well Fargo Arena and when he wasn’t inadvertently interacting with Gritty he found the time to recap the action.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets perplexed by NHL’s puzzling punishment system. (Paywall). Pretty sure everyone is puzzled by the Department of Player Safety (or whatever they call themselves) rulings.
Global News: Losing streak hits five games as Winnipeg Jets fall flat in Philly 4-1. Christian and Russ combine for this game recap.
NBC Sports Philadelphia: Fueled by Konecny’s Gordie Howe hat trick, Flyers grab 9th win over top-10 team. Always good to read about the game from the perspective of someone who covers the Jets opponent.
