Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets looked like they’d be saying goodbye to their streaks (well two of three) last night but the little team that could staged a comeback to knock off the upstart Hawks 2-1 very late in the 3rd period to give them eight straight wins and keep them at the top of the NHL. It wasn’t all good news as they lost Mark Scheifele to a lower-body injury early in the 2nd period and there wasn’t an update after the game as Rick Bowness said he would be evaluated today. They are scheduled to practice today at 12 noon so check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose got some good news on Thursday as the team got Ville Heinola back in the fold as he was medically cleared by the Jets and assigned to Manitoba where he will work on getting his game conditioning back after being off since he was injured during pre-season action. Of course depending on the status of Mark Scheifele it’s possible the Moose may be without a forward this evening when they take on the Rocket in Laval as they look to end their five-game losing streak. Puck drop is at 6 PM CST.

Note III: We heard from Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff yesterday morning as he spoke for about 35 minutes during his midseason address. He was also on Jets @ Noon for a 15 minutes chat which you can listen to here.
