Note: The Jets just don’t stop winning as they won their fifth straight game last night defeating the Ducks 3-1 in Anaheim as they ran their points streak to 11 games (9-0-2) and they finished the evening as the top team in the entire NHL. Not too shabby.  Oh yeah and they continued their streak of not allowing three or more goals which hits 28. They are off today as the mentors trip will hit the links in Arizona. They will be back on the ice tomorrow when they conclude the trip against the Coyotes.

Note II: The Moose kick off two straight days of matinees against the Senators after a week of practice as they look to get back on track to start 2024. Puck drop is at 2 PM CST.

Note III:  How about you join us this morning for two hours of Winnipeg Jets talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show which gets underway at 9 AM sharp. We will be joined by Jeff Hamilton of the Winnipeg Free Press and Frank Corrado of TSN.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Nate Schmidt snaps drought as Jets win fifth straight, take over first in Central. Have to imagine every single player in the Jets locker room was ecstatic that number 88 got his first of the year which turned out to be the game-winning goal.

Global News: Jets take over top spot in NHL with 3-1 win in Anaheim. There is still a lot of season left but this Jets club is doing impressive things as they approach the midpoint of the 2023-24 campaign.

Jets video:

Sportsnet: Is Jets’ early success the biggest surprise of the NHL season so far? Elliotte Friedman joined The Jeff Marek Show to discuss the biggest surprises at this point of the 2023-24 NHL season, saying the Winnipeg Jets’ early success is possibly the biggest positive surprise of the current campaign.

TSN: Should the Winnipeg Jets be considered an elite team? The Jets sit third in the Western conference, have secured points in 10 straight games and have won four straight. Is it time Winnipeg be considered an elite team? Martin Biron weighs in during Friday’s Talking Point.
