Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets took a well deserved New Year’s Day off on Monday after sweeping their home-and-home series with the Wild which put them 12 points up on their rival and allowed Winnipeg to remain in the thick of the battle for top spot in the Central division. Today they will look to keep their good play against the Eastern Conference (9-0-3) when they welcome the Tampa Bay Lightning to town. With it being a gameday all eyes will be on morning skate which gets underway at 10:30 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Tampa Bay, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game.

Note III: The Moose had a more disappointing conclusion to their 2023 as they were swept by the Central division leading Texas Stars including a heartbreaking last few minutes loss on Sunday in the New Year’s Eve afternoon game which is a staple game for the organization. They did get back on loan Jeffrey Viel who had been recalled by Winnipeg on an emergency basis. They are scheduled to practice this morning at hockey for all centre as they spend the week preparing to face the Senators at home.
