Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets kept their winning ways going in December as they continue to find success against the East (8-0-3) with last night’s 5-2 defeat of the Red Wings as they picked up their 21st straight game without giving up more than three goals (which is one off the NHL record). The top and fourth lines really stood out as did the play of Dylan Samberg. The Jets were scheduled to practice today but will have an optional as the get set for the final game of this homestand (and final game before the holiday break) when they host the Bruins on Friday night.

Note II: The Moose were in Iowa on Wednesday where they practiced as they get set to conclude the pre-holidays portion of their schedule with a two-game set against the Wild in Iowa. They have another day of practice scheduled for today in Des Moines.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets can beat you in so many ways. Used to be that the Jets would beat you with their goaltending and high-end scoring. Now they play a consistent 5 on 5 game that has them amongst the top teams in the NHL.

Winnipeg Sun: Gabriel Vilardi remains white hot as Jets clip Red Wings. He’s certainly making that trade between the Jets and Kings a winner for the team based in Manitoba so far.

Global News: Top line stays hot as Winnipeg Jets down Detroit 5-2. While I thought the fourth line had another impressive game there is no question that the trio of Mark Scheifele, Nikolaj Ehlers and Gabriel Vilardi are showing a quick chemistry that is netting very positive results.
