Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets embracing Central Division showdown vs. Avs. This will be a tough test against a dynamite team at home (9-2-0) who have scored the most goals in the division.

Winnipeg Free Press: Can the Jets best the west? (Paywall). Mike has four burning questions including: 1) Can they experience a rare rocky mountain high? 2) Can they swim in the Pacific? 3) Can they start scoring? and 4) Can the D keep dominating?

The Hockey News: “It’s a Brotherhood” – Winnipeg’s Brenden Dillon on the Art of Fighting. Carter caught up with the big, bruising defenceman to reflect on some of the battles he has had in his career.

Sportsnet: Why extreme parity in the NHL this season is a blessing and a curse. (Paywall). Nothing Jets specific in here but a good read about why fans in Winnipeg should hope his prediction is correct like it was in 2019.

The Athletic: Tyson Barrie trade destinations: 5 teams that could or should be interested. (Paywall). Shayna has the Jets as a team that could use the services of the right-shot defenceman.

The Athletic: Sean Walker trade destinations: 6 teams that could be interested in the Flyers defenseman. (Paywall). This article is from a few days prior but also lists the Jets as a potential landing spot for the Dman.

Global News: Brilliant performance by Brossoit highlights importance of Jets’ backup goalie. The Jets will have to ensure he doesn’t have to be brilliant every single game but if that was his new standard it is critical because the team needs him to ensure they can continue to bank standings points and also to ensure they don’t burn out top goalie Connor Hellebuyck.

Global News: Single shoes, phones and cash: Winnipeg arena staff work to reunite patrons with lost items. Funnily enough I was once reunited with an old camera that had slipped out of my laptop bag during a Jets or Moose game because the security person saw a picture of my cousin on it who thereafter got it to me.

Ottawa Sun: Insider Trading. The Sun columnist makes note at the end of the article that teams have been kicking tires on Logan Stanley.
