Note: The Jets are coming off a day off on Monday which followed a successful 2-1-0 road trip through Florida and Nashville. Now they are back in Winnipeg for four straight games starting tonight against the Stars. With it being a gameday all eyes will be on morning skate which gets underway at 10:30 AM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.

Note II: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Dallas, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game.

Note III: The Moose were also off on Monday following their 3-2 victory over the Griffins on Sunday to conclude their road trip with a 3-3-0 record. They return home for a pair of games this weekend against the IceHogs. Which sets this up as a few days of practice starting today at hockey for all centre at 10:30 AM CST.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Battle-ready Winnipeg Jets seem like different team through first 20 games. Folks who were following along last year are worried this year’s team will be a similar mirage that falters mid season but the truth of the matter is this team as is outlined in the headline just seems different when you look at the analytics and the eye test.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets off to a flying start. (Paywall). Hard to argue with that given the team is flirting with top spot in the Central division.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets’ blue-liner Chisholm back from conditioning stint with Moose, waiting for his NHL shot. (Paywall). After not getting into a game for close to six weeks it was imperative that Chisholm play some games even at the AHL level. And because he is still so closely connected to that group it wasn’t much of an adjustment.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets stock watch: The risers and fallers at the season’s quarter point. (Paywall). We’ve reached that quarter pole which means Murat is breaking out his list from his assessment of who is rising (Connor, Scheifele, Perfetti, Arniel, 3rd line, Pionk) and who is falling (Schmidt, Ehlers, Hellebuyck, Brossoit).

epRinkside: How good are the Winnipeg Jets? (Paywall). That’s the almost 82 million dollar question. Ryan shares what he learned about the local NHL club.

InGoal Magazine: Connor Hellebuyck pro reads. (Paywall). If you’re a goalie geek then this is the article for you as the Jets top netminder shares his wisdom on how to pick (and hold) sightlines on moving screens.

Global News: Jets better than expected at season’s quarter-mark but need improvementsAs Drew said on our last post-game show I don’t know how many folks had the Jets sitting close to the top of the central with a 12-6-2 record but as Kelly writes this team still needs to make some adjustments to crack that upper echelon of teams in the NHL.

Winnipeg Sports Talk: Jets Week in Review. Connor Hrabchak hosts Winnipeg Jets Weekly – a review of the past week in Winnipeg Jets news and a look ahead of what’s to come. Connor looks back on the Jets road trip where they went 2-1 against Tampa Bay, Florida and Nashville.

Off the Post: Jets soaring to start the year. On the latest edition Toronto SUN Sports Columnist Steve Simmons and Postmedia Hockey Columnist Bruce Garrioch chat with Postmedia’s Rob Wong about the hot start to the season for the Winnipeg Jets.

Sportsnet: Who is best current captain yet to win Stanley Cup? | One Big Question. The Hockey Central panel asks who the best current Captain yet to win a Stanley Cup is, including a Norris Trophy winner in Nashville, a first-time Captain in Winnipeg, a defensive leader in the Big Apple, and the obvious pick from Edmonton.

Jets prospect news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Keeping an eye on future Jets. (Paywall). Mike gives you an update on the prospects in the organization.
