Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: The Jets won a wild one last night in Tampa Bay as they kicked off their three-game road trip with a 3-2 OT victory over the Lightning which runs their win streak to four games, gives them wins in seven of their last eight games and a 10-2-2 record in last 14. They head south to Sunrise, Florida where they have earned themselves a day off today before they get back into action tomorrow night against the Panthers.

Note II: The Moose road trip continued last night in Rockford where they took on an IceHogs club that swept the two-game set they played in Winnipeg earlier this month. Manitoba was looking for revenge and after an early opportunity got stymied the home team pounced scoring three goals in six minutes in the 1st to take a 3-0 lead into the 2nd intermission. That was followed by two quick goals and eventually a 6-0 lead for the IceHogs. Jets prospect Nikita Chibrikov did score a pair of goals (his sixth and seventh) on the year. He’s up to 7G and 9A for 16 points and he leads the Moose in scoring and sits third in rookie scoring in the AHL.

Note III: Jets 2023 5th rounder Thomas Milic had himself a night yesterday in his first game back from being reassigned to Norfolk as he picked up his second career pro shutout. He’s 5-0-1 with the Admirals posting a .918 save% and a 2.00 GAA.
