Note: The Jets were off on Sunday after they successfully concluded their five-game homestand with a 5-2 win over the Coyotes which meant they went 4-1-0 at Canada Life during this stretch. They are scheduled to practice today at 10 AM out at hockey for all centre before they head to Tampa Bay to start a three-game road trip. Stay tuned for the Jets Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose flipped the script on Sunday as they had a re-match with the Marlies who defeated them 7-2 on Saturday. It was the third game in three days for Manitoba but they didn’t look as tired as one might have expected given their schedule. Coach Mark Morrison went back to Collin Delia between the posts after the netminder was pulled the day prior (he gave up three goals on five shots on Saturday). No assist for Brad Lambert on the first Moose goal by Nicholas Jones but he certainly played a pivotal role. Another Jets prospect who showed off his wheels was Nikita Chibrikov. The second goal by Manitoba was almost a save of the year by a Toronto forward but instead it became Brad Lambert‘s sixth goal of the season. Another Winnipeg prospect having an impact was Chaz Lucius as the 2021 1st rounder fed C.J. Suess who rifled this shot upstairs. The dagger was added late in the 3rd by Nikita Chibrikov who has now scored in three straight games. It was a gutsy team win for the Moose who held on for the 4-2 win over the Marlies. They won two of the three games they played in three straight days. Good bounce back game from Collin Delia who got pulled yesterday. Manitoba are now 6-7-0 on the season. They travel to Rockford today.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Jets’ Kyle Connor proving he’s an elite scorer. Kinda wild that he is tied for third most goals produced by someone from the 2015 NHL draft (and on a % basis for the guys in the top 10 sits second only to Connor McDavid) and you’re seeing a lot of headlines with words like “proving”. He’s been a consistent 30+ goal scorer for six seasons and one of those times fell just shy of 50. Even last year which was a “down” year for him he finished with 31.

Illegal Curve Hockey: Saturday Podcast. On yesterday’s show we discussed the injury bug impacting the Jets. Winnipeg recalling Dominic Toninato from the Moose on an emergency basis. Jets actually having depth and/or the conundrum when Gabriel Vilardi returns.  Jets/Coyotes game preview. Players being more comfortable in the Rick Bowness system/better team depth leading to wins. Connor Hellebuyck being ‘Hellebuyckian”.
