Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest hockey news in Manitoba.

Note: With training camp set to get underway this Wednesday the quiet time across the NHL is about to come to an end. Rookies started skating on Wednesday and last night they played the Oilers to kick off the Young Stars Tournament which saw them drop the game 3-1. Next up will be the Canucks prospects on Sunday.

Note II: Normally we’d be letting you know to join us at 9 AM for the Illegal Curve Hockey Show but we aren’t live today as it is Rosh Hashanah. However, we pre-recorded the episode which will go “live” on our YouTube channel at 9 AM but will not actually be a live broadcast. The bad news is you won’t be able to chat as you normally could but the good news is you’ll be able to download the episode immediately.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets season unpredictable as a dice roll. Paul isn’t wrong as there are plenty of questions about this team but that’s why they play the games. To provide answers to those questions.

Winnipeg Free Press: Kupari ready to battle for spot on Jets roster. (Paywall). Part of the talk of the added depth is trying to create a fourth line that has an identity which is likely where he’ll be able to potentially carve out a niche.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Mark Scheifele, Nikolaj Ehlers and Kyle Connor: 1 big question for each Jets star. (Paywall).  Murat asks some questions about the upper end forwards on this Jets club including whether 55 has some 19 (Yzerman not Gustaffson) in him, if 81 can lead the team again for the third year in a row and if 27 can convince the brass to give him top line minutes.
