Note: The Jets are in offseason mode but is there really ever an offseason? If there is any news we will have it for you here. And of course the Illegal Curve Hockey Show runs until the end of July so be sure you’re a subscriber and join us every Saturday morning at 9 AM.
Note II: The Moose and Admirals faced each other for the 13th and final time last night in Milwaukee in a winner-takes-all final game of their five game playoff series. Manitoba didn’t have smooth-skating defenceman Ville Heinola who we found out after the game was dealing with a shoulder issue. It was a tight contest although Milwaukee took over control in the middle frame scoring what looked like it would be the only goal of the game. But the Moose, courtesy of a Jansen Harkins rocket, tied the game late in the 3rd only to have heartbreak set in when a collision between two of their players set up the game-winning goal with just 26 seconds left. With the loss their 2022-23 season is over. Now all that’s left are the exit meetings.
Note III: The Ice were hoping that last night they would learn if they were facing the Thunderbirds in the WHL Championship series because Jets 2022 1st rounder Brad Lambert and his Seattle squad were up three games to one over Kamloops with game 5 on Saturday evening. However it was the Blazers who were victorious by a final score of 4-2 which forces a game 6 back in B.C. on Monday.
Note IV: Jets goalie prospect Dom DiVincentiis and his Battalion teammates have a chance to punch their tickets to the OHL Championship this evening holding a 3-2 series edge over the Petes. Puck drop is 6:05 PM CDT in Peterborough.

Sportsnet: Seven potential off-season suitors for Jets’ Connor Hellebuyck. The vultures are circling the corpse of the Jets although this reminds me of the Monty Python ‘bring out your dead’ scene for Quest for the Holy Grail with the guy (in this instance the Jets) saying “I’m not quite dead”. Anyways check out this thought exercise of where number 37 could end up.
