Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets suffered a loss within a loss on Monday night in Winnipeg as they first lost Mark Scheifele to injury in the 1st period and then ultimately they lost the game by a final score of 4-2. They now find themselves in the unenviable position of being down 3-1 in their series with the Golden Knights. They are scheduled to leave today for Vegas and the big questions being will 55 (who is being re-evaluated today) be on the trip/healthy to play and if not, will they make a recall from their AHL affiliate? They could also still recall a defenceman as well although if they play 11/6 then they have Kyle Capobianco as an extra. The team is slated to have a media avail before they take off so stay tuned for that later today.

Note II: The Moose has a busy day as well on Monday after being off on Sunday. We did learn that Arvid Holm had been recalled by the parent club (although he could likely be back today with Manitoba). We also reported that Kristian Reichel is having surgery and is done for the season. There was also plenty of other practice nuggets to be gleaned including a new face with the group. They are off today. If you want to go to the playoff games on Friday (game 1) and Sunday (game) use this discount code to get there for an affordable rate.

Note III: The Ice concluded their second round series with the Warriors last night in Moose Jaw as they defeated them 8-2 in game 6 to win it 4-2. They now await the winner of Saskatoon and Red Deer.

Jets news:

CTV: Blade to Barron’s face makes NHL players cringe, but they say no to extra protection. An interesting article about players reactions to what happened to Morgan Barron last week but also not a surprise that they don’t see it (pun somewhat intended) as a necessity for change.

Sportsnet: Injury-riddled Jets lose Scheifele, fall into deeper hole vs. Golden Knights. Can the injury adversity they faced earlier in the season prove to be a boon now? We shall find out.
