Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets were in both must-win and can’t lose territory on Saturday night when they welcomed the Predators to town but they played their most dominate period in years in the middle frame and continued it into the final one which they ended with a 2-0 win over Nashville. With the victory they significantly reduced the Preds playoff chances. Calgary picked up a point in a shootout loss which means the Jets need just three points in final three games to clinch a playoff spot. Winnipeg was scheduled to practice at 12 noon but they cancelled and are off today. They’ll be back on the ice tomorrow as they conclude the home portion of the regular season against the Sharks.

Note II: An update from Winnipeg Jets head coach Rick Bowness on Cole Perfetti. Click here.

Note III: The Frozen Four OT game-winner was scored last night by Jacob Quillan. It was reported by Mark Divver of the New England Hockey Journal that he was coming to Winnipeg this summer for Jets development camp. With this goal celebration he already seems to be familiar with Winnipeg style goal celebrations.

Note IV: The Moose were off on Saturday as they picked up their first win in some time to conclude the final regular season homestand. They are scheduled to practice today as they prepare for the final road trip of the regular season which will see them head to Texas on Monday.

Note V: The Ice practiced on Saturday for the first time since they clinched a spot in the Eastern Conference Semi Final. They still don’t know their opponent yet. They are off today.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Workhorse Hellebuyck stands tall for shutout in Jets’ biggest game of year. He didn’t have to steal the game but he was solid once again for his club and was definitely one of the reasons they took a clean two points and added them to their standings bank.
