Note: The Jets held a second straight day of practice on Thursday before they took off for Edmonton. Nothing super remarkable learned other than the team had recalled Axel Jonsson-Fjallby on an emergency basis and placed Mason Appleton on injured reserve. We also learned from Bally Sports Midwest Andy Strickland, who covers the Blues but is pretty connected across the NHL, that Logan Stanley has requested a trade.
Note II: Today is both a gameday for Winnipeg as well as the NHL Trade Deadline which concludes at 2 PM CST. Check out what Dreger, Johnston and Friedman said about Winnipeg’s needs last night during their respective broadcasts. Stay tuned for what could be an extraordinarily busy day (or possibly just a regular busy gameday). If there are any breaking trades with respect to the Jets we will be hosting a chat on our Illegal Curve YouTube channel so be sure you are subscribing.
Note III: With it being a gameday all eyes will be on “morning skate” which gets underway in Edmonton for the Jets at 12:30 PM CST. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 8:00 PM CST.
Note IV: This evening, after the final buzzer sounds between Winnipeg and Edmonton, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game. This season you’ll have a chance to win great schwag including authentic Jets jerseys, hats, etc after every single game (For a variety of ways to enter click here).
Note V: It isn’t just a gameday for the Jets as the Moose are also in action tonight as they face off against the Wolves in the first of two games which will conclude their eight-game homestand. They are currently riding a nine-game points streak (7-0-1-1) and given they are close to top spot in the Central it will be a big game tonight in Winnipeg. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.
Note VI: The Ice are also in action as their ten-game road trip continues tonight in Regina as they take on the Pats. Puck drop is at 7 PM CST.
