Jets news:

Sportsnet: Jets Trade Deadline Preview: Cheveldayoff should try to bolster roster. Just goes to show you how quick things move in that this was just posted on Sportsnet and one of the  potential trade targets (Lars Eller) was just dealt to the Avs. A good read from Wieber ahead of Friday’s deadline.

Global News: Beware of NHL trade deadline inflation. Tis the time for silly season when caution is thrown to the wind as GMs engage in an arms race to load up their clubs for what they hope to be a long playoff run with some willing to mortgage their future in hope of that shiny Stanley Cup.

The Athletic Winnipeg: The day Dylan DeMelo was traded for Erik Karlsson: ‘No one gets traded at this time of year’. (Paywall). Always enjoy reading these behind the scenes type of articles to give you some insight into the human side of a trade.

Sportsnet: Jets’ offensive breakthrough a reason for optimism despite loss to Kings. Maybe it’s not all doom and gloom for a Jets team that went from no 5 on 5 goals to five of them on Tuesday night.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets blow two two-goal leads, fall to Anze Kopitar’s Kings in shootout. Given this team was something like 30-3 when leading to start the 3rd period last night’s result was a bit of a shock.

Winnipeg Sun: Winnipeg Jets’ recent struggles have weighed on the players. The stat before they played game 61 was telling. In the first 30 games they were 20-9-1 and in the last 30 they were 15-15. When you lose every second game there is no joy in joyland.

Winnipeg Free Press: Kopitar carries Kings past Jets. (Paywall). If he played for the home team one lucky person was going home with 100K as the Kings captain was sensational in scoring four goals for the visitors.

Winnipeg Free Press: Samberg growing into role. (Paywall). He continues his upward progression this season and has given Winnipeg a very strong left side of their defence.

Jets video:
