Jets news:

Global News: Jets don’t want to be latecomers to trade deadline. It will be interesting to see if yesterday’s trade of Tarasenko from St. Louis to New York gets the balls moving for the other GMs who are looking to improve their teams.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets spent break recharging, knowing consistency on home stretch will lead to success. Who doesn’t enjoy a little fun in the sun before you get back to work?

Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ Mason Appleton set for Saturday return after three-month layoff. Been quite the road back but it will be interesting to see what sort of chemistry he can develop (again) with Adam Lowry and Morgan Barron.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets are back and ready to roll. (Paywall). Little R&R and now it is time for the sprint to the playoffs.

Winnipeg Free Press: Appleton’s long wait finally over. (Paywall). A seemingly innocuous hit results in an injury that has kept him out of the lineup for most of the season. It will be interesting to see how he is eased back into things.

TSN: Meier presents a rare opportunity this trade deadline. A really good read on the winger that likely about 10-15 teams are looking to add ahead of the trade deadline.

Jets video:

TSN: Players and coaches want to see more consistencyThe Jets returned from their bye week and are looking to get back on track on Saturday when they host the Blackhawks. Both players and coaches admitted they are looking for more consistency for the final stretch of the season. John Lu has more.

Jets audio:

Frankly Speaking: A conversation with Josh Morrissey. Frank Seravalli sat down with Josh Morrissey at NHL All-Star weekend to talk about the defenseman’s strong start to the season, which has given him the nickname ‘Josh Norris-sey’. Josh talked about what’s changed in his game and how new Head Coach Rick Bowness has not only sparked his game, but also changed the team’s mindset. The Jets are having a great bounceback season but it didn’t seem like this kind of turnaround could happen. Josh spoke about the culture in the room and other things that have contributed to this turnaround. Frank also asked him about the idea of one day potentially being named Captain of the team.
