Note: The Jets and Sabres did battle last night in Winnipeg to kick off the final push before the All-Star break which saw the visitors pick up a 3-2 win over the home side. Today Winnipeg is scheduled to practice ahead of their Saturday night tilt against the Flyers. Be sure to check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose are back in action tonight after spending the last few days resting and practicing. They go up against the Marlies with puck drop at 7 PM CST.

Note III: The Ice are also in action tonight with three games in Alberta starting tonight in Lethbridge. Puck drop is at 8 PM CST.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Jets’ lacklustre stretch continues with loss to surging Sabres. Wieber gives you his breakdown of last night’s contest.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets can’t get it done against Buffalo Sabres. Folks may have looked at where Buffalo was in the standings but that would be a mistake. It’s understandable how they’ve won four straight. Scott with his thoughts on the game.

Winnipeg Sun: Coach covets Logan Stanley’s size, even when it lands defenceman in penalty box. It still isn’t clear why Dylan Samberg came out of the lineup the other game. And for the record I’m not putting the losses in the last two games on number 64.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Winnipeg’s trade deadline strategy only works if its players seize the moment. (Paywall). Murat dropping some carpe diem on the Jets.

Buffalo News: Sabres’ top line puts on a ‘show,’ Eric Comrie stands tall in Winnipeg. You could see by the embrace post-game that his teammates were very excited that Comrie got the win in a place that started his career.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets lethargic in 3-2 loss to Sabres. (Paywall). Mike offers up his thoughts on the game last night.

Winnipeg Free Press: Pionk looking for consistency. (Paywall). There has been a lot of chaos in his game and I suspect he is nursing something because he doesn’t seem like he is at 100% (not that many guys can claim they are at this point in the season).

Jets video:

Sportsnet: What has been the root of the Jets’ recent offensive struggles? Ken Wiebe and Sean Reynolds break down the Jets’ recent offensive struggles, as well as discuss whether the team’s work ethic is where it should be, and how the Buffalo Sabres looked on Thursday night.

Sportsnet: 32 Thoughts PodcastA few days ago the folks at Sportsnet released their 32 Thoughts Podcast chat which was a discussion between Connor Hellebuyck, Jeff Marek and Elliotte Friedman. Yesterday the video was made available to watch.

Moose news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Chisholm ready to make leap to NHL. (Paywall). I’ve been saying for some time his skating is NHL quality, his offensive instincts are as well and he’s become a better defender this season. Because he was a 5th rounder folks overlook him but that would be a mistake on their part. He’s gonna be an everyday NHLer.
