Jets news:
The Hockey News: 2012-13 – No. 14. Appears that the folks over at The Hockey News are not too impressed by the off season moves of True North. They are predicting a 14th place finish for your Jets next season. Agree, disagree? Let us know where you think the Jets will finish next season.
The Barrie Advance: Jets stars join HNIB. Barrie is quite the pipeline for Jets talent.
Hockey’s Futures: Mark Scheifele still top prospect in system. The good folks over at Hockey’s Futures give a breakdown of the Top 20 prospects in the system.
Jets official site: Ready Redmond. Eager to make the jump to the NHL, will Redmond be able to crack the lineup or will he be spending another season of seasoning with the IceCaps?
CBA news:
NHL.com: NHL, NHLPA reconvene CBA negotiations. Appears that the Jets Ron Hainsey, the team rep, was involved in the process today.
Newsday: Both sides agree there is enough time for a new CBA. Good thing that the two sides can agree on the fact that there is still time to get a deal done, now how about spending time agreeing on the actual issues.
NHL news:
News & Observer: Canes sign Skinner to 6-year contract extension. Another solid move by the Jets Southeast Division rivals.
CSN Chicago: Will ad logos be placed on NHL sweaters? Hate this idea. There are plenty of ways to generate revenue. Best to leave some things alone.
New York Daily News: Rangers a favorite to land Shane Doan. It appears the team favoured to get Doan changes every single day. Yesterday I read that the Sharks were in the lead. Who knows who it will be tomorrow.
USA Today: Trotz says Predators are on Doan’s short list. Looks like that short list, isn’t quite as short as we thought it was if the Preds are indeed on it.
Edmonton Journal: Oilers trying to develop power forwards from within. If this team can get all the pieces put together is going to be very, very scary in the near future.
AHL news:
American Hockey League: Griffins-Marlies outdoor tix on sale. Having seen numerous games at Comerica Park I can attest to the fact that it is a great venue to watch a sporting event. Of course the highlight of my time there was seeing the Comerica streaker liven up a rather boring Tigers/Royals game on my birthday.
