Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets, Moose & Ice news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets held an optional practice on Tuesday and the most notable event was Logan Stanley taking part ahead of the optional as he continues to recover from a slight foot fracture. Today they start their three-game road trip against the Wild in St. Paul. There will be plenty of content today so keep it locked here starting with the morning skate which gets underway at 10:30 AM. All the relevant news will be posted in the pre-game report so check back for that. Puck drop is at 6:00 PM CST.

Note II Tonight, after the final buzzer sounds between the Jets and Wild, we want you to be part of the conversation on the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show as we discuss and analyze the results of the game. This season you’ll have a chance to win great schwag including authentic Jets jerseys, hats, etc after every single game (For a variety of ways to enter click here).

Note III: The Moose scored first courtesy of Jeff Malott‘s fourth goal in the last five games but the Admirals got the next five to take it 5-1 in Milwaukee. Manitoba are now 1-1-1-0 on the road trip. They head to Grand Rapids today where they’ll take on the Griffins twice to close out the road trip.

Note IV: The win streak came to an end at 15 for the Winnipeg Ice as they fell 2-1 in regulation to the Hurricanes last night. They are still an impressive 20-2-0-0 on the season. Re-match tonight which is the final game at home of this ten game homestand. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM CST.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets have foundation with which to grow after impressive start. It is interesting to watch this Jets club, largely the same as they were last year, but in a lot of ways a completely different club.

Winnipeg Free Press: Morrissey among NHL’s elite D-men. (Paywall). It was interesting to hear about the challenge the Jets bench boss posed to his top defenceman ahead of puck drop on the 2022-23 season.

Winnipeg Free Press: Wild matchup will be costly for Samberg. (Paywall). When he said he’s in the low 40s for friends and family for his first ever NHL game in his home state you couldn’t help but think “cha-ching” but I am sure it will all be worth it given the excitement he’ll be feeling playing in front of them all.

Minneapolis Star-Tribune: Wild-Winnipeg game preview: Thanksgiving weekend officially starts with Jets in town. Which means that all important time of the year when you want to find yourself in a playoff spot is around the corner. Check out this preview written by a Wild beat writer.

The Rink Live: Former SCSU standout Mikey Eyssimont scores 1st NHL goal. Lots of excitement for the Colorado product after potting his first NHL goal.
