CBA news:

Boston Globe:  A collection of thoughts on bargaining in the NHL.  KPD is absolutely right.  There was no need to wait until the 11th hour to try and get a deal done.  When the NHL season rolls around we want to see a full MTS Centre, not one that has been locked down.

NHL news:

Detroit Free Press:  Wings’ draft pick Athanasiou proves a lot in limited time.  The Wings draft well and usually season their prospects in Grand Rapids before bringing them to Detroit.

The Seattle Times:  Can Seattle area support six pro teams?  A great city to live and work in could get even better if they are able to add NHL and NBA.

Newsday:  Signs point to Rick Nash making a difference with Rangers.  Despite this upcoming season being his 10th in the NHL, with the exception of a quick 4 game opening round loss to Detroit, the playoffs remain a goal for a players as determined  as Nash.  We will see this hunger to succeed next year and expectations are nothing short of winning a Stanley Cup with the group he has in New York.

NBC Sports:  Potential Coyotes owner Jamison is about $20M short of goal.  The situation is getting bleaker in the desert.
