Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note: The Jets fell again last night as they dropped their third straight game on their final road trip of the season losing to the Rangers 3-0 although the game was closer than the score indicated. Not that there is much room left in moral victories. Today they are scheduled to practice in Carolina as they prepare to mercifully end the road portion of the 2021-22 season tomorrow night against the Hurricanes. Be sure to check back for the Practice Report.

Note II: The Moose lost Mikhail Berdin who was a surprise emergency recall last night for Connor Hellebuyck who was under the weather. Manitoba is scheduled to practice today as they continue to prep for their final regular season road trip which will be a quick trip this weekend to Rockford and Milwaukee.

Note III: The Ice also have a day of practice set as they prepare for game 1 of the 1st round which gets going on Friday here in Winnipeg.

Jets news:

Sportsnet: Dreary loss to Rangers a sign of the times for reeling Jets. While it was a better game than the ones they played over the weekend it was still a loss.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets play better, but suffer shutout loss to Rangers in New York. Maybe a month or three ago that headline was important to set a tone. Now it is too little, osley

Winnipeg Sun: Jets star Kyle Connor’s bid for Lady Byng a no-brainer. Something tells me the Lady Byng narrative is one that is going to engulf Manitoba for the next couple of weeks.

Winnipeg Free Press: Jets drop third straight game in 3-0 loss to Rangers. (Paywall). Scott reacts to last night’s loss.

Global News: Jets blanked in the Big Apple, drop 3-0 decision to Rangers. Another recap of last night’s contest.

CBC: Jets drop 3rd in a row as playoff hopes dim in shutout loss to Rangers. Dim would suggest that there is a chance they can be turned back on but the Jets playoff chances are “over Rock”.

New York Post: Rangers’ third straight shutout moves them into first-place tie. Given the way Igor Shesterkin was playing last night it is hard to believe there has been any falter in the New York netminding.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Josh Morrissey’s hardest loss: How cherished moments with dying father transformed Jets star. (Paywall). That couldn’t have been an easy story for him to share nor an easy one for Murat to write. Well worth your time.
