Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: ‘We’re not getting it’: Jets coach, captain, struggle for answers. Reality is these guys know what is up but they aren’t gonna share it during media availability.

Winnipeg Free Press: If Jets keep losing, expect players to be shipped out by March 21 trade deadline. (Paywall). Only guys you might see moved from Winnipeg are Paul Stastny, Andrew Copp and maybe Nate Beaulieu.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Jets by the numbers: Goal scoring woes, a question of age, an average Connor Hellebuyck and more. (Paywall). Often times folks want to pin the problem on one thing because that could in theory allow for a quick fix. However as Murat points out there are a multitude of factors that have gone into why this season is sputtering for a Jets club that had big aspirations.

The Athletic: The Penguins are still confusing, the Jets might be done, and let’s find the season’s most mediocre team. (Paywall). Not much faith in the local NHL club.

TSN: Wheeler on possible Jets trades: ‘I haven’t given the trade deadline a whole lot of thought’Following a 4-1 defeat to the Rangers over the weekend, the Jets are now eight points back of a wild card spot in the Western Conference and with the trade deadline two weeks away, the tension is growing in Winnipeg. Blake Wheeler was asked about how a possible trade would be received in the locker room.

Sportsnet: Wheeler focused on facing Tampa, not really worried about trade deadline. Jets captain Blake Wheeler says he hasn’t given the trade deadline much thought, his headspace is on facing the 2-time champion Lightning right now, and has no control over personnel decisions within this organization.
