Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Nine Jets still unsignedWe will know today if the Jets have any more of their guys signed or if they will allow them to test free agency.  Which player (UFA) is the one you’d most like to see with a Jets contract by July 2nd?
Chris Mason

Winnipeg Sun:  Big free agent moves not in Jets’ DNAWhen weighing the pressure or winning now versus building for the future, the team has to make a logical decision based on whether they feel spending big dollars will help them get over the hump.  In the Jets case, they have committed to building towards the future and that means for the next year or three fans might have to accept that Winnipeg won’t be a significant player in free agency.

NHL Free Agency:

New York Post:  If Parise wants in, Rangers will listenOr has his agent said, let’s not say no to any team, so we can keep our leverage high with Detroit, New Jersey and L.A.?

The Tennessean:  Predators wait on SuterHe is fielding offers from a number of teams, and it is expected that division rival Detroit will be putting on a full court press to acquire the defender.

Toronto Sun:  Top 30 available NHL talentThe Jets are represented by Wellwood (19) and Gustavsson (30).  Who on the list might be a worthwhile find for Chevy and company?

Edmonton Journal:  Oilers sales pitch wins over SchultzSo much for free agents not wanting to go to a small city like Edmonton.  Players want to win, and the expectation is the young gun Oilers could be a big winner in the next couple of years and it appears they have just added an important piece of the puzzle.
