Your source for all the latest Jets and Moose news, video and audio.

Note: No morning skate for Winnipeg with today being an early afternoon game. Jets bench boss Paul Maurice indicated that Paul Stastny is a possibility for today’s game depending on how he feels so he would be the only change you could see this afternoon. Be sure to check back for the pre-game report for the latest news and interviews. Puck drop is at 2:30 PM.  Following the game be sure to join us for the Illegal Curve Post-Game Show.

Note II: After taking Thursday off the Moose hit the ice for a final day of practice today before they face the Texas Stars this weekend in back-to-back matinees here in Winnipeg to conclude their five-game homestand.

Note III: The Jets Josh Morrissey and the Blue Jackets Max Domi were each hit with fines for 5K from incidents in the game in Columbus two nights ago.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Free Press: Lucky Jets spend U.S. Thanksgiving with their families. (Paywall). A nice way for a team with plenty of Minnesotans as well as Americans to get a slice of home during the season.

Winnipeg Free Press: Slump wearing on Wheeler. (Paywall). The captain didn’t seem like it was wearing on him during his media availability but it has been a constant question for most of the season so you know he is ready to put one or two into the back of the net.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets visit Wild to begin back-to-back slate. Scott gives you a reason to watch. A look at the points leaders for both teams. As well as three things to know about Minnesota.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ Wheeler not losing sleep over slump, but wary of frustrations. What he says off the ice is less important than what he shows on it. He knows it. Fans know it. Everyone knows it.

Star-Tribune: Wild-Winnipeg gameday preview. Read a preview of today’s game from a writer that covers the Jets opponent.

Global News: Is it time for the Winnipeg Jets to fire up the Gus bus? About the only reason you wouldn’t do it is if you are going to limit him to replacing the five minutes Kristian Vesalainen is playing. But if he’s given the opportunity to help the penalty kill then it would make a lot of sense.  He also has more offence than people understand so he could help in that realm as well.

Sportsnet: Frustration settling in for Jets with Wheeler stuck in offensive slump. All is not well with the Jets captain right now and whether that is lingering impact from his bout with covid or something else the best bet to get him going I suspect is what many including Wieber in this piece have been/is suggesting which is to reduce his minutes, at least for now, in the hope it sparks something.

The Athletic Winnipeg: What happens when the Jets’ Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele era ends? Projecting Winnipeg’s 2024-25 lineup. (Paywall). Murat puts on his forecasting hat to take a look into the future and try to figure out what this Jets club looks like in a few years.

Jets video:

TSN: How good have the Jets looked through 19 games? Gino Reda is joined by TSN Hockey analyst Dave Poulin, who shared his thoughts on what he’s seen from the Jets through the first 19 games of the season.

TSN Bardown: Chat with Cole Perfetti. The Jets first rounder from 2020 got his first taste of NHL action this season, but there was some drama that took place surrounding his first game… involving his parents! Find out how Jamie Drysdale’s father helped Mr. & Mrs. Perfetti reach his first game in the big leagues, and how it almost didn’t happen! Cole also took time to discuss the World Juniors and his first ‘welcome to the NHL’ moment.
