Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Overthinking just one of the challenges young players face in training camp. Just getting to the NHL is tough enough and once there you have so many things to navigate as Scott examines.

Winnipeg Sun: Copp relishing top-six role; Greig suspended for Dubois cross-check. The 4th rounder from 2013 has continued to rise to the challenges he has in front of him. This season is going to be a defining one for his career. Scott also wrote about the suspension the Brandon Wheat Kings forward and Sens prospect was handed down by NHL Department of Player Safety after he cross-checked Pierre-Luc Dubois in the face.

Winnipeg Free Press: Copp keen to show he’s more than a defensive specialist. (Paywall). There will be lots of pressure, both internal and external, on number 9 to produce this season as he continues to earn more and more opportunity on this Jets club.

Winnipeg Free Press: Ehlers aims to improve every aspect of his game. (Paywall). The truth is that even the best of the best are always looking to improve and get better.  Getting complacent will only stagnant your game which is why the dynamic Dane continues to try to add to his existing strengths and add new tools to his toolbox.

Winnipeg Free Press: Central Division up for grabs. (Paywall). For a Jets team that spent all of last season playing the other Canadian teams they will now find themselves back in the central and this ain’t Kansas no more.  Things have changed significantly since the 2019-20 season as Mike details in his latest column.

Global News: True North hopes to speed up arena lines, get fans educated on new bag policyI did receive some tweets and texts from folks who weren’t thrilled by the long lineups to get in yesterday but I do think most folks understood that this is all new and will likely improve.  Good news for True North is the weather is gonna be balmy for awhile so they won’t have to figure this out when it is freezing outside.

Sportsnet: Jets prospect Perfetti turns heads with on-ice smarts, dynamic shootout moves.  Took the 2020 1st rounder about a period to start to look comfortable and then it was evident that he was ready to show off what he can do.  Ken has more on his first game with the Jets.
