Jets news:
Winnipeg Sun: Expected “hogwash?” Different views on analytics within Jets organization. Another good read from Scott who really deserves some sort of award for being able to splice his hockey and covid coverage.
Winnipeg Sun: Perreault hasn’t turned back the clock, he’s just doing what he’s always done. Number 85 is the type of player that all teams would want as his engine never seems to shut off.
Sportnset: Why a Mattias Ekholm trade would make sense for Jets. Lots of buzz right now about the Swedish Dman being available but as Ken writes it wouldn’t come without a cost.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets working OT to perfection. (Paywall). While getting clean regulation wins is ideal, taking the full two points in extra time is the next best thing, and the Jets have shown no problems doing that this season going a perfect 5-0.
Winnipeg Sun: Sacre bleu! Jets remain perfect in OT with win in Montreal. What’s that old expression? If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Jets have been perfect in extra time so far this season and the three forward combo has clearly been a big part of that success. Also helped that the French connection was in full force last night.
Montreal Gazette: Canadiens show grit, but OT woes continue in 4-3 loss to the Jets. Read about the game from the perspective of a writer’s that covers the Jets opponent.
Winnipeg Free Press: Scheifele, Dubois play hockey, not analytics, they say. (Paywall). Jeff got twitter a flutter yesterday afternoon when he mentioned analytics during the media availability.
Yahoo Sports: Jets star Mark Scheifele has no time for ‘hogwash’ analytics. As soon as I heard the word ‘hogwash’ during the media availability I figured it may create a bit of controversy.
Jets video:
TSN: Stastny has ‘looked great’ alongside Wheeler and Scheifele. Paul Maurice has been shuffling his top six lately, including moving Paul Stastny to the wing alongside Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele. Stastny has looked great since the move, and picked up a pair of goals against Montreal as the Jets continued to roll. TSN’s Craig Button shared his thoughts on Stastny’s play, and a bright spot he has noticed for the Habs despite their recent struggles.
