Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets concluded their four-game homestanding going 3-1-0 after last night’s 5-2 win against the Canucks.  Today they were scheduled to practice but will instead use it as a travel day as they head to Montreal to start a five-game road trip.

Note II:  The Moose practiced yesterday afternoon as they look to get back on track and arrest their three-game losing streak with tonight’s re-match against the Marlies in Toronto.  Puck drop is at 6 PM CST.

Sportsnet: Jets answer Maurice’s challenge with complete effort vs. Canucks. It was a much better effort last night.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets down Canucks, jump into second place.  The local NHL squad continues to add points to the standings bank and while the rest of March is gonna have a big impact on how they finish they’ve put themselves into a good spot acquiring this may points to date.

Winnipeg Free Press:  On a club stacked with scoring talent, Appleton’s making his mark. (Paywall).  His drive was once again evident as the Jets 2015 6th rounder continues to impress this season. His 1st period goal established a new career high for goals.

TSN: Jets get rewarded for going to the net early and often against Canucks. Mason Appleton crashed the net early for the Jets and was rewarded with his sixth goal of the season, and that was a trend for the Jets in this one. As Ray Ferraro explains, the Jets were able to work their way to the front of the net early and were rewarded for it against a top-heavy Canucks team that had no answers.

TSN: New-look line of Connor-Dubois-Ehlers looked fantastic for Jets.  After being shutout by the Canucks on Monday, Paul Maurice changed up his lines and went with a new-look line of Pierre-Luc Dubois between Kyle Connor and Nik Ehlers. TSN Hockey analyst Jamie McLennan joins SportsCentre to discuss the fantastic play of Winnipeg’s second line in the bounce-back victory over Vancouver.
