Note:  After playing six games in nine nights the Jets will have the day off today after they concluded this stretch last night with a big 6-4 comeback win against the Oilers. They will be back on the ice tomorrow for a practice as they get ready to face the Canucks on Saturday night.

Note II:  Like their parent club the Moose are also off today after two days of training camp.  In case you missed it we spoke with a pair of Jets defensive prospects as well as coach Pascal Vincent which you can watch/listen to here.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun: Jets’ second line operating among the NHL’s elite. It certainly will give the Jets bench boss a lot to chew on as he tries to figure out how to add a number one centre to his top six.

Sportnet: Ehlers, Copp stepping up as Winnipeg continues to establish identity.  A big question for players and the coaching staff of Winnipeg during training was what is this team’s identity.  The secondary scoring and a true top nine vs top six is starting to show this off.

Winnipeg Sun:  Ehlers, Copp drive another Jets comeback in win over Oilers The Jets “second” line has been nothing short of phenomenal since they were put together and now folks are wondering where exactly Winnipeg will play Pierre-Luc Dubois if they can keep this going.

Winnipeg Free Press: Copp has breakout performance. (Paywall).  Before the season began he spoke about wanting to seize whatever opportunity he could and allow his play to dictate where he plays in the lineup. Just seven games into this season and the Michigan product has done this and a whole lot more.
