Note: The Jets kicked off the first day of the regular season in a big way yesterday starting things off by announcing their 23-man roster and five player taxi squad, which coincided with the news that the team was assigning prospects Ville Heinola and Cole Perfetti to their AHL club Manitoba. The team followed this up with a practice which was absent Nikolaj Ehlers who was missing due to CPRA (covid protocols related absence). Both GM Kevin Cheveldayoff (watch here) and Coach Paul Maurice (watch here) spoke following practice and the team ended the day announcing they had signed Trevor Lewis to a one-year deal.
Note II: The first Jets regular season game day in 309 days gets going today as they will welcome the Flames to Winnipeg for their home/season opener this evening. Morning skate scheduled for 10:00 AM CT. Be sure to check back for the pre-game report ahead of tonight’s 7 PM puck drop and following the game for all the post game news and interviews.
