Note: Jets made some news on Thursday afternoon as the team announced that they had extended goalie prospect Mikhail Berdin to a two-year extension.

Note II:  More news this morning as CJOB and the Jets announced that Paul Edmonds will lead play-by-play coverage of the Jets’ 2020-21 NHL season games on their station alongside Jamie Thomas of JetsTV. Congrats to both of these guys. Sorry to see Paul leave our station but I am happy that he will continue to be the voice of the Jets on radio.

Jets news:

The Athletic Winnipeg:  How Neal Pionk became a power play force in his debut Jets season.  (Paywall).  That is some significant company that the Jets blueliner finds himself with and Murat heads to the video room to check out the how and why.

Sportsnet:  NHL could play all games in U.S. if all-Canadian division can’t workThis seems a smidge late in the game to me.  Perhaps the NHL is simply trying to exert some leverage over the federal government.  It’s one thing to move a single team (Raptors/Blue Jays) but you’re telling me they actually think they could move all seven Canadian franchises to the States and make it work.  I simply don’t see that as possible.

TSN: All-Canadian division could be in jeopardy. This is a transcription of the chat the insiders had on Insider Trading.

Jets video:

TSN: Prospects to watch at WJC from Western Conference Canadian teams.  TSN Director of Scouting Craig Button joins That’s Hockey to break down the Canadian teams’ prospects that will be playing at the World Juniors, focusing on the four Western Conference teams.  The video starts with him talking about Winnipeg prospects.

TSN: Discussing the potential of losing the Canadian division before we had it. Bryan Hayes, Jamie McLennan and Jennifer Hedger react to the breaking news that the NHL might be forced to move all 7 Canadian teams to the U.S. if they can’t come to the agreements with provincial health authorities.

Sportsnet: All-Canadian division won’t exist if NHL moves Canadian teams to U.S. NHL Insider Chris Johnston spoke to Caroline Cameron about why the NHL is considering moving all seven Canadian teams to the U.S. for the upcoming season and what will happen to the All-Canadian Division.

The Hockey News:  Time for the Winnipeg Jets to Bounce BackThe 2019-20 season wasn’t easy for the Winnipeg Jets, who were forced to deal with the losses of many quality players from the off-season. Will things fare better this time around?
