Note II:  The road back to the NHL from injury can be a long one. Bryan Little (Nov 5th) and Mark Letestu (Oct 13th) haven’t played in a long time. Might either be a player in a potential play-in series against the Flames? Paul Maurice was asked this question and here was his response.

ESPN:  Every NHL team’s most hyped prospect of the past 30 years.  No shocker which Jets prospect was selected.  Coincidentally today is the four year anniversary of Winnipeg taking Patrik Laine with the 2nd overall pick in Buffalo at the 2016 NHL Draft.

The Athletic LA: Examining the top candidates to coach the AHL’s Ontario Reign. (Paywall). If you are wondering why this article would be listed under Jets links it is because current Winnipeg associate coach Jamie Kompon is mentioned as a possible candidate. He spent six seasons with the Kings organization which included winning a Stanley Cup back in 2011-12.

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:  Playing for teams not known for defense, Carlyle was best of Penguins, Coyotes, Jets.  I didn’t recall Freddie O playing for the Pens.  Seth compiles a good list for this article.

TSN:  Insider Trading – Hub cities narrowed down to six.  The lone TSN Hockey Insider is Pierre LeBrun and he joins James Duthie to discuss the six cities that are still in the running to be one of the hosts for the NHL’s return. He also has details on MLSE resubmitting their hub city bid for Toronto and how the league plans to handle outbreaks before players get into “the bubble.”
