Note: This is day 65 since the NHL hit the pause button on the  2019-20 season.

Note II:  While the resumption of the 2019-20 season is still in flux one thing that is certain is that even if play resumes there will not be any games played at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg.  With that in mind the team sent out information to season ticket holders advising them of what they can do with the remaining four home games left.  To read click here.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  Bob Essensa reflects on Jets career, capturing the Stanley Cup as a coach.  (Paywall – 90 day free option).  I don’t know about you but I cannot read that name without hearing Curt Keilback  yelling “great save Essensa”.  Ken caught up with the former Jets 1.0 goalie.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  The Boarding PassElliotte Friedman from Hockey Night in Canada and the NHL on Rogers Sportsnet joins Ken and Murat to update the Boarding Pass on the NHL’s return to play scenarios and the draft.  Friedge also provides his analysis on the Jets, if they are in store for a long playoff run this summer, plus dealing with Jets coach Paul Maurice.  Finally, Friedge tells Ken and Murat the origin story of 31 thoughts the column and podcast.

Winnipeg Sun:  Moose goalie Eric Comrie reflects on strangest season of his lifeAs someone who covers this team there was an unquestionable malaise when Comrie was picked up off waivers by the Coyotes to start the season.  It was evident during the month of October.  And when he was re-claimed by the organization it was quite remarkable to see the elation at his return.

TSN:  Insider Trading – NHL/NHLPA back and forth on return to play.  TSN Hockey Insiders Darren Dreger, Pierre LeBrun and Bob McKenzie joined host James Duthie via videoconference to discuss the latest on the back and forth between the NHL and the NHLPA regarding a return to play, the status of potential hub cities and the possibility of the NHL Draft still taking place in June.
