TSN:  Play of the Year 2012Coyotes Mike Smith takes on the Winnipeg Jets Ondrej Pavelec in a couple of plays of the year.  Looks like the Jet is beating the Coyote.

Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps:

The Telegram:  It’s now a best-of-three at Mile OneThe Caps gambled when they chose to play the first two games on the road (giving them the last 3 at home).  Now they will need a big effort to shut down the Crunch in front of the St. John’s faithful.

Stanley Cup news:

Ottawa Citizen:  Close the deal on home iceThe Senators were picked to finish last in the Eastern Conference but are instead poised to knock off the #1 seed Rangers at home.  Quite the turnaround season lead by former Jets 1.0 star Paul MacLeanWill the veteran and sophomore Swedish duo of Alfredsson and Karlsson knock off their countryman Henrik Lundqvist in Game 6?

New York Daily News:  It Boyle’s down to Game 6 for RangersIt looks like the only place the Rangers can get any ‘justice’ for the Boyle hit will be if they can beat the Senators and push the series to a 7th game.

Chicago Tribune:  Blackhawks hope home is sweet in Game 6If the Hawks are hoping to force a game 7 then they are going to need Kane and Sharp specifically to step up their level of play.

Arizona Republic:  Coyotes still in the driver’s seatBeing the road team has hardly been a burden in the Stanley Cup playoffs this season.  The Coyotes are trying to throw off the mantle they as well as the Jets 1.0 have/had as a team unable to get to the next level (and by level we mean 2nd round).

Globe and Mail:  NHL discipline isn’t just about ShanahanAs with any organization, he is taking his mandate from the top of the food chain.
