Jets news:
Jets official site: Looking Glass. He has been a media favourite as he isn’t one to drop too many cliches when being interviewed.
Affiliate news – St. John’s IceCaps (1st Round tied 1-1):
The Telegram: Series returns to St. John’s tied 1-1. Gagnon had a pair of goals, Cormier a goal along with two assists for Postma but that wasn’t enough to overcome a strong game by the Crunch. The best of 5 series returns to St. John’s for the remaining 3 games, starting with Game 3 on Wednesday.
The Post-Standard: Mark Bell ringing again for the Crunch. A great crowd (5423) saw a fantastic game in New York as their team evened the series. The Crunch PK was woeful during most of the season, but began to improve as the season wound down. They have shut down the strong IceCaps PP all but one time in eight opportunities in the first two games of this series.

Stanley Cup news:
Washington Post: Brouwer’s strike gives Capitals a 4-3 win and 3-2 series lead. The play of young goaltender Braden Holtby has been a difference maker in this series. Wonder which IC analyst called for the Capitals to upset the defending Stanley Cup champs……
Miami Herald: Panthers on the verge. The series has an unusual habit of having one team or the other break out to a 3 goal lead in every game in the series thus far. Usually the team the scores first goes on to win, with the exception of Florida overcoming the 3 goal deficit and winning game 3 by a final score of 4-3.
Ottawa Citizen: Senators in the driver’s seat for a joy ride. It was the first time in the series that Ottawa has played with a lead. Not many expected the team from the capital to be pushing the Eastern leading Rangers to the brink of elimination. Rangers Coach Tortorella was not happy with Chris Neil’s hit on Brian Boyle, suggesting it was similar to the Torres hit and saying Neil is a repeat offender (which he isn’t).
St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Blues fans get huge reward years of patience. The team won its first playoff series in over a decade as they were able to put away the veteran Sharks in just 5 games. We had Jeremy Rutherford of the Post-Dispatch on yesterday’s Illegal Curve Hockey Show and he discussed the fact that the Blues have undergone a 6-7 year re-build, which is just now seeing the positive results from that labour.
Chicago Tribune: Hawks beat Coyotes in OT to stay alive. Captain Serious and Winnipegger Jonathan Toews brought the series back to Chicago with his OT game winner. It was the 5th time out of 5 games that the series had gone to OT, tying a record set in 1951 between the Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs in their best of 5 Stanley Cup Finals (Leafs won 4-1).
