Jets news:
Sportsnet: Top three Winnipeg Jets moments of the past decade. While I agree with two of the three I actually think the first exhibition game where the Jets played as a split squad against the Columbus Blue Jackets was the biggest non-playoff hockey moment as opposed to the regular season home opener a few weeks later. The sound in the building ahead of puck drop was palpable and then seconds after puck drop when Dustin Byfuglien leveled Manitoban Matt Calvert and then Tomas Kubalik, the place went absolutely berserk. Watching the video all these years later and you can still feel the energy that was inside what was then called the MTS Centre. Also how crispy are those white boards without any ads on them!
Winnipeg Free Press: Drama, excitement at Jets game… she said yes! (Paywall). This proposal seemed to get a mixed reaction on our Instagram account but aside from the celebrity look-a-like contest there wasn’t much excitement during the game itself. Watching the contest I couldn’t help but think how painful it was going as she got wrong answer after wrong answer but eventually it all ended well. Even if she didn’t get any Sierra Courier dollars.
