Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Note:  The Jets were off on Monday although they did host their eighth annual Skills Competition in front of a packed house at Bell MTS Place last night,  We did see Josh Morrissey taking part as was Laurent Brossoit but Nathan Beaulieu did not nor did captain Blake Wheeler who was listed as a participant but sat on the bench in street clothes.  Today they are on the ice for practice at 11 AM at the IcePlex before they take off for three games in California.  Check out the Practice Report for the latest news.

Note II:  The Moose were off on Monday as they traveled from Toronto to Milwaukee to continue their seven-game road trip.  They are scheduled to practice today in Milwaukee in advance of tomorrow’s game against the hottest team in the AHL.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  Q & A with Coach Pascal Vincent.  Ken chats with the bench boss of Manitoba about the slow start to the season, Eric Comrie being claimed off waivers, Mikhail Berdin handling the heavy workload, Sami Niku’s play, Andrei Chibisov’s adjustment, Jansen Harkins progression and the development of Kristian Vesalainen.

Illegal Curve:  Moose continue to use a rotation for D prospects Johnathan Kovacevic, Luke Green and Leon Gawanke.  But now instead of two of the three prospects playing it is down to one on most nights the last four games since the Moose returned to full health on D.  It is an adjustment.
