Note:  The Jets practiced in Winnipeg on Friday before they were able to escape the prematurely wintery conditions for their one-game road trip to Chicago.  This is just the second game against a central opponent (and last for awhile) as they only play two of their first 17 games within the division.  It will be important to make the most of this contest against a Hawks team still looking for their first victory.  No morning skate for the Jets but be sure to check back for the pre-game report with projected lines, D pairs and pre-game audio.  Puck drop is at 6 pm.

Note II:  The Moose opened the season at home last night with a 3-2 loss to the Marlies.  They will have a re-match this afternoon at 2 pm.  You can catch me doing colour on the broadcast as I join Daniel Fink in the broadcast booth.

Note III:  Tune in for three hours of Winnipeg Jets and NHL talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show starting at 9 am on TSN 1290 Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Sun:  Jets take on another winless division foe in ChicagoJets have a chance to be up eight points on Chicago with a clean victory tonight in the windy city.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets goaltender likes where his game is at.  (Paywall).  Words are just that.  Actions are what really matter.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets, agent won’t comment on if/when Byfuglien might return.  (Paywall).  Jason has the latest on the situation that has so many focused here in the ‘Peg.

The Athletic:  Why the 2007 Ducks are a good example of why the Jets should remain patient with Dustin Byfuglien.  (Paywall).  Eric Duhatschek’s notebook has a good section on what happened in Anaheim in 2007 and why that could impact the Jets in 2019.

The Athletic Winnipeg:  How Patrik Laine’s growth is shining through as he rounds out his game.  (Paywall).  For all those folks who thought he was a one-trick pony it looks like this pony has a few more tricks as many of us thought he did in that repertoire.  Ken goes deep on the Finnish sniper.

TSN:  Poulin breaks down Laine’s impressive game against the Wild.  Patrik Laine had one of the most complete games of his career on Thursday against the Wild. From his four-point night, to his eight hits and blocked shot, there was a lot to be impressed with about his game, but what did TSN Hockey analyst Dave Poulin think was the standout part of his game?

TSN:  ‘Way too early’: Western Conference Canadian Teams.  That’s Hockey goes through each Canadian team in the Western Conference to make a ‘way too early statement’ and debate whether or not that statement will be true at the end of the year.
