Note: The Jets practiced in Winnipeg on Friday before they were able to escape the prematurely wintery conditions for their one-game road trip to Chicago. This is just the second game against a central opponent (and last for awhile) as they only play two of their first 17 games within the division. It will be important to make the most of this contest against a Hawks team still looking for their first victory. No morning skate for the Jets but be sure to check back for the pre-game report with projected lines, D pairs and pre-game audio. Puck drop is at 6 pm.
Note II: The Moose opened the season at home last night with a 3-2 loss to the Marlies. They will have a re-match this afternoon at 2 pm. You can catch me doing colour on the broadcast as I join Daniel Fink in the broadcast booth.
Note III: Tune in for three hours of Winnipeg Jets and NHL talk on the Illegal Curve Hockey Show starting at 9 am on TSN 1290 Winnipeg.

TSN: Poulin breaks down Laine’s impressive game against the Wild. Patrik Laine had one of the most complete games of his career on Thursday against the Wild. From his four-point night, to his eight hits and blocked shot, there was a lot to be impressed with about his game, but what did TSN Hockey analyst Dave Poulin think was the standout part of his game?
TSN: ‘Way too early’: Western Conference Canadian Teams. That’s Hockey goes through each Canadian team in the Western Conference to make a ‘way too early statement’ and debate whether or not that statement will be true at the end of the year.
