Note II: A season that began with so much optimism came to a crashing halt as the Blues defeated the Jets 3-2 last night in St. Louis to take game 6 and ultimately win the series 4-2. After making it to the Western Conference Finals in 2017-18 it was taken for granted by many that this team would get to that next level but instead they find themselves out in the 1st round of the 2018-19 season. The team will return to Winnipeg and hold their exit meetings on Monday. Be sure to check back here as we will have all the news from the final day at Bell MTS Place.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch: Blues do it! They take series with 3-2 win over Winnipeg in Game 6. (Survey Required). Read about the game from the perspective of a beat writer that covers the home side.
Sportsnet: Jets go down without much fight as Blues move on to second round. Normally I’d say you cannot take off two periods of a hockey game and still hope to win it (although the Jets have so much talent they almost proved me wrong last night). Still that’s a big lesson we will need to see if these Jets learn for next season.
ESPN: Looking ahead for the Jets and the tough decisions ahead. (Requires Subscription). Hard to already be thinking of next season.
Jets video:
TSN: Was this season a lost opportunity for Jets? It was another one-goal game but it was clear that the Blues dominated Game 6 against the Jets. Sara Orlesky, Darren Dreger and Mike Johnson break down Winnipeg’s final game of the season, discuss the early coach’s challenge decision by Winnipeg that ended up playing a key role in the outcome of the game and whether or not this season was a step back.
TSN: Maurice had to use his challenge on the first goal. TSN Hockey analyst Martin Biron breaks down the coach’s challenge conundrum that stood in front of Paul Maurice and says he had to challenge on the first Jaden Schwartz goal, which ultimately cost him a challenge opportunity on Schwartz’s second goal. Biron also explains how the Jets’ inability to hold onto leads cost them their season.
