Note II:  The Jets were supposed to practice on Wednesday but cancelled it in favour of a team meeting at the hotel in advance of today’s game against the Avalanche in Colorado.  Which means we didn’t get an update on Brandon Tanev who left the game in Minnesota after getting slashed in the 1st period.  Morning skate gets underway at 12:30 pm CDT so be sure to check out the pre-game report for a full update as well as audio.  Puck drop is at 8 pm CDT.

Note III:  The Moose are 50% of the way through the final home portion of the regular season after last night’s 3-2 win over the Condors.  The win helped them maintain the 4th and final playoff spot and puts them just two points back of Iowa (with one game in hand) which adds up to an exciting sprint to the end of the regular season.  They are off today and will return to the ice tomorrow for a practice as they get set to face the Stockton Heat in a pair of afternoon games to wrap up the final pair of games in Winnipeg.

Jets news:

TSN:  The Jets appear fundamentally broken.  That’s a less than ideal headline heading into the playoffs.  And when you check out the work done by Travis it will leave folks who have hope for a Stanley Cup run feeling less than confident.

The Athletic Winnipeg: Winnipeg Jets captain Blake Wheeler on love, trust and leadership during the stretch run. (Paywall). Insight into the thoughts of Blake Wheeler with the playoffs quickly approaching.

Winnipeg Sun:  Looking to get out of rough patch as Avs on tap.  Ken’s big matcup is Mark Scheifele vs Nathan Mackinnon.  His five keys to the game include: 1) Response required 2) Rinse and Repeat. 3) Thirst for first. 4) Filling the void. 5) Get to Grubauer.

Winnipeg Sun: Jets searching for identity while a late season swoon is causing concern.   Adversity can sink this team or they can use it as motivation.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Jets, Predators and Blues neck and neck with two games left.  (Paywall).  And you thought it would be coast to the playoffs.  Not so which means these games will have plenty of meaning as teams wrap up the regular season.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Plenty of blame to go around as Jets limp into post-season.  (Paywall).  Lots of opportunities across the board for guys to step up their game.
