Note:  The Jets took Sunday off following their 5-0 win over the Predators to kick off the final homestand of the regular season.  Today they will be back on the ice as they face another division rival and potential first round opponent in the Dallas Stars.  Morning skate gets underway at 10:30 am so be sure to check out the pre-game report for the latest lineup news and audio.

Note II:  The Moose swept a very good Eagles team in Colorado over the weekend to put themselves into the fourth and final playoff spot in the Central Division.  When you consider this Manitoba team was LAST in the AHL as of Christmas the 22-11-2-2 run in the last three months is simply remarkable.  Today the team will practice in Texas as they get set for their final game of the regular season against a Stars team on Wednesday night that is one point back of them.

Jets news:

Winnipeg Sun:  Centres in the spotlight when Jets, Stars clash. Paul’s big matcup is Tyler Seguin vs Mark Scheifele. His five keys to the game include: 1) The follow up. 2) Patrik Laine. 3) Send another message. 4) Absorbing rubber. 5) The D-zone.

Winnipeg Sun:  Laine no longer one-trick pony, even if his best trick has vanishedI suspect it is only a matter of time before these posts and crossbars become the back of the net once again.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Roaring arena keeps Jets ‘wired’.  (Paywall).  There is no question that it was just a different environment on Saturday night than we have seen all season long here in Winnipeg.

Winnipeg Free Press:  Laine’s unselfish act a smooth move.  (Paywall).  Sounds like his teammates approved of the play the Jets sniper made at the conclusion of the game on Saturday night.

Illegal Curve:  Health updates on Brossoit, Byfuglien and MorrisseySomewhat overlooked on a game day coach Maurice provided updates on his three injured players back on Saturday.

Moose news:

Illegal Curve: Moose run has taken them from last in AHL to a playoff spot Since a 4-0 win on December 30th in Winnipeg over the Colorado Eagles and ending last night with a 3-2 OT win over those same Eagles in Colorado this Manitoba team has gone 22-11-2-2 which meant the team improved to 33-27-4-2 on the season which is good enough for the 4th and final playoff spot in the Central Division.
