Note:  Today is the day folks have been waiting for as the arbitrator ruling between the Jets and Jacob Trouba is expected this afternoon.  Of course the two sides can continue to negotiate while they wait for the ruling so in theory there could still be an announcement of a long-term deal.  If not you can expect a one-year deal.  Update:  The arbitrator has awarded Trouba a 5.5 million dollar deal for next season.  Jets have 48 hours to accept it and if they don’t then Trouba becomes a free agent.  They will of course accept the deal which puts Trouba on a one-year deal for 5.5 million and means he will be an RFA again next season.

Jets news:

Sportsnet:  Trouba arbitration hearing with Jets was ‘marathon affair’Will be curious to see how contentious (if at all) the meeting between the two sides got.
