Note: The Jets took Saturday off after completing the first series win in 2.0 franchise history after they disposed of the Wild on Friday night at Bell MTS Place. Their second round opponent is still to be determined as the Predators and Avalanche will play game 6 in their first round series tonight in Denver. While they wait the Jets will practice today at 11 am at the IcePlex. As always stay tuned for the Jets Playoff Practice Report to see if there are any health updates.
Note II: The Moose are fresh off the first ever playoff win in the first ever playoff game as they came from behind in the 3rd period to beat the defending Calder Cup champion Griffins. Game two of the best of five series goes this afternoon at Bell MTS Place with puck drop at 2 pm. After today the series will shift to Michigan for games three as well as four/five (if needed).
Winnipeg Sun: Jets have eyes on bigger prize after dispatching Wild in first round. It is the attitude they have had all season long so it really shouldn’t come as much of a surprise that they have continued this focus in the post-season.
Winnipeg Sun: Jets players marvel at special energy created by fans. It isn’t the Jets players who marvel. I often find myself distracted when the game is on by the antics of the crowd. Especially the folks in the 300s who bring it.
Winnipeg Sun: Top-10 moments from the Jets first-ever playoff series win. Ted looks back at the Jets 1st round.
Winnipeg Free Press: Jets fans ‘well behaved’ at downtown party. (Paywall). Considering how many folks were downtown and how pumped up everyone was the number of incidents was negligible.
Sportsnet: Jets’ Byfuglien ‘a force’ finally playing smart hockey. Ron and Don had a chat about the Jets star defender on last night’s Coach’s Corner.
Illegal Curve: Moose pull off late comeback to down Griffins and take a 1-0 series edge. A look at the series, the lineup, a game recap, the scoring summary, games notes, other news and post-game audio (Comrie, Schilling, coach Vincent).
Winnipeg Free Press: Moose follows in big club’s playoff tracks. (Paywall). Not exactly the same atmosphere as what we witnessed on Friday but the farm club did their part on Saturday.
Winnipeg Free Press: Moose come from behind to defeat Griffins 3-2, lead best-of-five series. (Paywall). While it didn’t open like the team would have liked they really rounded into form in the middle frame and for the 2nd and 3rd periods looked like the Manitoba Moose of old. Mike recaps the game.
