Winnipeg Jets Morning Papers

Latest Winnipeg Jets and Manitoba Moose news.

Note:  Kick start your day with a blend of Winnipeg Jets and NHL hockey talk on The Illegal Curve Hockey Show on TSN 1290 Winnipeg.  Show starts at 9 am and runs for three hours as we cover a wide range of topics and will have interviews with Mike McIntyre (Winnipeg Free Press writer – Jets), Matt Loughlin (Devils radio play-by-play), Jim Cerny (Deputy Editor-Canada @SportingNews) and Chris Peters (NHL Draft and prospects analyst for ESPN).

Note II:  Last night the Jets beat the Wild 4-3 to finish the three-game home stand with two wins and a loss.  The team has now picked up four wins in their last five games.  It was a milestone evening for Jets captain Blake Wheeler whose game winning goal was also the 200th career goal for him in the NHL.  Behind the bench coach Paul Maurice secured his 600th win in the NHL.  Jets are scheduled to practice at the IcePlex at 12 noon.

Note III:  The Moose also played last night against the Wild in Iowa.  It was a see-saw affair but the farm club fell short as they lost to the Wild farm club by a final of 3-2.  Jack Roslovic scored in the losing cause while Sami Niku picked up another point.  Mason Appleton got his first point picking up an assist.  Moose have a re-match tonight with the Wild at 7 pm at Well Fargo Arena.
